The Mazarine, Palatine and Undine have consecutively dry-docked at A&P Tyne’s site in Hebburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne. The main Scope of Works for the Mazarine and the Palatine, which are sister ships, was very similar and included, blasting and painting, external steelwork repairs, thrusters overhaul, engine and a list of various electrical works. The Undine had a more extensive scope of works which included stern door repairs, painting and blasting, steelwork repairs, tank repairs, mooring winches repairs, rudder repairs, port and stbd tails shafts, propeller works, thrusters overhaul, main engines overhaul works all together with the usual dry docking scope.
These three projects proved both challenging and enjoyable for A&P Group’s Tyne yard.
Stephen Knapp – Technical Director for Euroships commented, “We were pleased to have the opportunity to dock several vessels at A&P Tyne this year, common work scopes made this practicable for the sister vessels. The yard have a strong safety ethic, which together with a conscientious approach and attention to critical time lines helped to make the dockings a success”.
