30 June 2008: MOD places multi-million pound contracts with A&P Group

The MOD has today placed contracts valued at around £53 million with the A&P Group, which has shipyards in the south west and north east of England, for the long-term maintenance of five navy support ships.  Full Story50KB

12 June 2008: Royal Visit for Falmouth

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh has officially rededicated the Queen Elizabeth Dock at A&P Falmouth, fifty years after he first opened the dock in 1958.

Prince Philip, hosted by Lady Mary Holborow, Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall, was met by A&P Group Chairman Simon Sherrard, A&P Group Chief Executive David Ring and A&P Falmouth Managing Director Peter Child when he visited the docks last week (June 12). Full Story50KB

23 May 2008: Norcape Refit 2008

A&P Tyne Ltd, part of the A&P Group, has recently completed the annual refit onboard the Ro/Ro Cargo ferry ‘Norcape’ for P&O Ferries, the 14,087GT vessel arriving at the Hebburn yard on 26 March 2008. At peak times, over 100 personnel were employed with all contract work completed on day 42 - in line with the original schedule. The 150m vessel departed on 23 May 2008 to return to service  between Tilbury and Zeebrugge. Full Story36KB

16 April 2008: Ice Maiden I - Offshore Flotel Vessel Conversion

A&P Tyne Ltd are pleased to be advised that they have been awarded the contract to carry out the conversion of a former ice breaking cargo vessel into a DP3 Flotel, accommodation vessel carrying up to 399 persons. Full Story31KB

03 April 2008: European Seaway - Gearbox Exchange

A&P Falmouth recently won a contract from P&O Ferries to replace the port main propulsion
gearbox on the freight ferry European Seaway, the fifth time A&P Falmouth has exchanged main
engine gearboxes on this class of ferry. The vessel drydocked on 24th December 2007 and sailed on 9th February 2008. Full Story36KB

08 January 2008: A&P - partner of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta

A&P are partners of the exciting Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta. John Hick, Chairman of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta Falmouth stated; “Without this tremendous and continued support from A&P, the event would not be possible.  We look forward to working with them and turning the start of this prestigious regatta into an outstanding event for the whole of Cornwall”.
