Business Development Manager - Energy (North East)

A&P North East is currently recruiting for an Business Development Manager – Energy, to be based at Hebburn.

The purpose of the role is to: -

·         To Support development of the A&P North East Energy Strategy and implement it as directed by the North East Commercial Director to achieve the overall aims of the business within the Energy Sector identified as Oil and Gas Fabrication, Offshore Wind, Wave Energy and any other developments in the energy sector that become appropriate to the A&P business.

·         To lead, manage and support Energy related bids, ensuring that the bids are fully resourced and that the A&P North East MD has full visibility of bid progress throughout the bid process.

  • Ensure that all bids are managed within the allocated budgets and that deadlines both internal and external are met 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·         Develop and implement A&P’s objectives for the Energy market with senior A&P North East stakeholders.

·         Identify and develop relationships with Senior Key Energy Companies and Government department officials and other industry stakeholders. Develop a matrix-based list of these relationships and maintain a record of all meetings within that database. 

·         Develop and Implement A&P Group’s Board approved strategy for the Energy sector where it relates directly to the A&P business in the North East.

·         Develop an intelligence led fact base on all upcoming opportunities directly related to A&P Group Energy related core activities.

·         Produce and maintain a Pipeline of opportunities that will align with A&P’s financial objectives.

·         Assist with Energy bids allocated elsewhere within A&P Group as required.

·         Advice senior A&P stakeholders on dealing with UK government procurement regulations.

·         Be fully conversant with and be able to advise senior A&P stakeholders re compliance with the UK Government strategies and opportunities directly related to the Governments Energy policies.

·         Advise senior A&P stakeholders on short term and long-term Energy sector market trading. Develop sector specific campaign plans and opportunity related capture plans.

·         Develop, support and execute key customer engagement plans.

·         Produce a written report to the A&P Managing Director North East and Commercial Director as required with regard to ongoing activity i.e. bids, meetings with senior Energy sector personnel and other industry stakeholders.

·         Ensure that senior A&P stakeholders are kept informed about A&P’s Energy Sector market activity.

·         Identify key promotional opportunities to enhance A&P’s position in the market place.

·         Work as directed by the A&P Managing Director North East/Commercial Director Support the A&P Group HSEQ policy and ensure that personnel working within the bid teams are compliant.
