Established in 1994 and acquired by the A&P Group in 2006, Marine Designs Limited (MDL) is part of the A&P Group and specialises in Marine Access Systems. MDL has been involved in the design, manufacture and installation of large pontoons and floating piers for a variety of operators, ranging from ferries to rescue services, port operators and the offshore wind industry.
DockMaster is a patented product exclusive to MDL, and can offer a number of advantages over traditional pontoons. The design won the Regen South West Business Innovation Award in 2010.
The Box Steel Pontoon is a unique design built to Lloyds Linkspan Rules – the highest standard of floating pier design accreditation.
The Tubular Steel Pontoon. MDL has designed, built and installed more tubular steel pontoons than any other company in the UK, with the largest to date (the largest one-piece tubular steel pontoon in the world), moored outside the O2 arena in Greenwich, UK.
Bow and Bridge Access. Like an entrance to a prestigious building, bridges and brows to pontoons provide the first impression to a marine facility, but they also have to be functional and meet stringent safety requirements. MDL has worked on landmark projects to design, and manufacture an extensive range of bridges and brows for a variety of applications.
