SHIP REPAIR QUANTITY SURVEYOR BASED IN HEBBURN FOR A&P NORTH-EAST

A&P North East are recruiting for an Ship Repair Quantity Surveyor based in Hebburn.

Purpose of Role:

To maintain the project costs throughout the duration of the project until the final account is settled with the client. This includes monitoring, maintaining and reporting the financial project position to senior management. Manage changes and improvements whilst providing optimum contractual and cost control to other project team members, departments within the company maximising Company’s value against customers and suppliers. Support project management in a cost effective project execution.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understanding and advising Company’s contractual position on projects
  • Adherence to and awareness of Company Policy and procedures
  • To administer contractual correspondence with clients and subcontractors
  • Identify cost trends, potential savings and commercial opportunities.
  • Cost Control of labour, suppliers and subcontractors during projects.
  • Monitor and review daily timesheet allocations for both company and subcontractors
  • To identify, evaluate, process and agree variations with client and subcontractors.
  • Assist Project Manager with preparation of cost estimates and maintaining cost plans thereafter.
  • Maintaining the project’s cost control working file.
  • Assist the PM in achieving the project targets including timely agreement of final accounts.
  • Ensure applications for payment and invoices are submitted and agreed timely with client.

Qualification and Experience

  • Ability to prepare contractual notifications for Project Manager approval

  • Experience of Fabrication / Heavy Engineering and/or Ship Repair Works

  • High level of Data analysis, excel and management reporting skills
  • Working knowledge of Sage Accounts for cost retrieval
