APCL A&P Tyne is located in Hebburn, South Tyneside and boasts the largest dry dock on the East Coast of England. The business provides world class ship repair, conversion and fabrication services across the defence, marine and renewables sectors.

Hebburn Town Football Club is one of the largest grassroots clubs in the UK, with over 1000 junior playing members across 83 teams and over 150 adults across 6 teams. The club also offers football opportunities for male, female and disability impaired people.

The football club is run solely by volunteers and delivers a "Positive Social Economic Impact Value" of approximately £3.1 million per annum to Hebburn and the wider borough of South Tyneside.

Ian Douglas, Managing Director of APCL A&P Tyne, said: “APCL A&P Tyne is committed to supporting the grassroot community of Hebburn and we are therefore delighted to be sponsoring Hebburn Football Ladies team as we continue our commitment to investing in the local community.

“Partnering with Hebburn Town Football Club not only allows us to support the vital work which is delivered by the club, it also provides visibility of our business to our local community.

“This in turn will provide the platform to promote our apprenticeship programme and wider recruitment opportunities which are available at APCL A&P Tyne."

Stephen Rutherford, CEO of Hebburn Town Football Club, said: “I’m really pleased that the football club has secured another magnificent partnership with one of the towns largest employers in APCL A&P Tyne.

“The values of the club and APCL A&P Tyne are aligned, we both have a key focus on community inclusion and positive impact, we all agree this is a great start to a relationship that can only develop over the years.

“I’d personally like to thank Phil and the team at APCL A&P Tyne and our local MP Kate Osborne who provided the introduction to the APCL executive team.”
