RFA Lyme Bay Returns Home to the River Tyne.
APCL A&P Tyne is delighted to welcome the Landing Ship Dock Auxiliary (LSD(A)) RFA Lyme Bay to its facility for a Contractor Support Period (CSP) which will see the vessel return to the North East, the region in which she began life, for the first time in over 15 years.
APCL A&P Falmouth supports 3 x Bay Class vessels, RFA Argus and HMS Scott as part of an In-Service Support contract with the Ministry of Defence. LSD(A)) ships have been supported by APCL since 2007.
RFA Lyme Bay's CSP will include the following:

- Improvements/upgrades to the HVAC system
- Machinery and equipment annual testing and certification
APCL A&P Tyne will be supported by APCL A&P Falmouth’s cluster support team and the Group’s national network of sub-contractors, all of whom have extensive knowledge of the Bay Class.
Ian Douglas, Managing Director of APCL A&P Tyne, said: "APCL A&P Tyne is delighted to welcome RFA Lyme Bay to its facility this week.
"This is the first time Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels have docked on the River Tyne in over 15 years.
